Apple Crisp-Gluten Free

Last weekend we had baking day & made 3 very tasty dishes. I'm finally starting to get a chance to put up the recipes for those yummy dishes. This recipe also comes from the www.liveglutenfreely.com website. We will definitely be making this in our house again.

GLUTEN FREE APPLE CRISP

Prep Time:  15 min
Total Time:  1 hr
Makes:  12 servings

Apples
6 large tart cooking apples, thinly sliced
     1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Topping
1 box Betty Crocker Gluten Free yellow cake mix
     1/2 cup chopped nuts
     1/2 cup butter, softened
     1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
     1 egg, beaten
Serve-with
     Ice cream, if desired

1. Heat oven to 350 F. In large bowl, toss apples and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Spread apples evenly in ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan.

2. In large bowl, mix cake mix and nuts. With pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until crumbly. Add 1 teaspoon cinnamon and the egg; mix well. Sprinkle evenly over apples.

3. Bake about 45 minutes or until topping is light brown. Serve warm with ice cream.

I'm not really a fan of the tart apples so we bought Fuji instead. Then of course we had to get vanilla icecream to go with it hehe.

My job was cutting the apples

Making sure my slices are thin

The bowl is filling up

Someone decided that they needed to eat the apples while I cut them

Cheeeeese

Apples with the cinnamon on them

Placing them evenly in the pan

The pan seemed to be getting pretty full so we stopped before we used all the apples

While I cut the apples, Hubby made the topping

It tasted as yummy as it looked

I poured the topping over the apples trying to make sure it was evenly covered

A few hours later we got to eat the masterpiece for dessert. Very delicious!
