Sing Me To Sleep

Now with Keegan going to play group 3 days a week I have indirectly become a morning person. Even on the days that he doesn't go if Kaden wakes up to eat between 6-7:30 I am usually fairly wide awake & my day starts.

This is good in 1 way. I feel like I make more of my day & especially if Keegan is not here I can usually get a lot of stuff done. The bad part of this is that by 7pm I'm ready to go to sleep. I was sitting in Jon's office talking to him tonight & I seriously just felt like I was going to fall asleep right there. I went & made myself one of my special iced coffee drinks to try to keep me going til it's actually bed time around here but I still feel like I'm going to pass out.

I'm not sure how many of you out there have seen the movie Sucker Punch but there is an amazing song from the soundtrack called Asleep by Emily Browning & the song popped into my head while I was sitting here. I absolutely love this song & actually go to bed at night listening to it sometimes. I think it might have to start my bedtime playlist tonight. You can hear a sample of it on Amazon if you're interested.

My specialist's secretary called me yesterday with some more info about what I need to do next week in preparation for surgery etc & she was talking to me about how I was doing, were the kids driving me nuts etc & she made the comment that since I'll be staying the night in the hospital that I can "get some rest". It'd be nice if that was the case but I've spent enough nights in the hospital for various reasons & if there's one thing I've learned it's that you get no rest in the hospital. It's so bad that I usually can't wait to get out of the hospital so I can go home & get some rest.

Thing's have changed a bit since most of my hospital stays though. Now I have a big mouth hyperactive toddler that has so much energy I would love just 1/10 of what he has & he's almost never quiet. He even talks in his sleep haha. Soo...IF I'm in a room by myself I just "might" actually get some rest if I don't have staff coming in & pestering me every few hours & can make sure they keep the door to my room closed. I'm not sure where I'll be but I've been in the ortho ward twice & it's horrible there. Usually there's been at least one elderly person that moans, yells or cusses all the time because they don't know why they are there. A closed door is a necessity if you want to even try to sleep.

So anyway, here's to wishful thinking for lots of rest while I'm in the hospital. Now it's just about time to get ready for bed once Keegan finishes his after dinner snack (we rarely get him to eat enough dinner so he's always hungry by 8pm) and little Piglet is awake & thrashing around in my lap so I'm sure he wants more food too haha. Oh man, I can't wait until my head hits the pillow.....
